Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 Resources List

This blog post is a port of an old idea I never finshed, whilst not very relevant to most of the content I will be posting I hope it can still be useful. I was trying typescript at the time so enjoy the random quote generator above too.

Overhauls

  • Back2Beta
  • Back2Beta is an updated version of minecraft beta 1.7.3, fixing bugs and adding controller support without altering the game in any major ways. It is intended to be the best way to play the beta, updating it to a better standard, without changing anything.
Tip: With a controller you can press the drop button on a crafting result to drop it without using resources, creating a duplication giltch!
  • Better than Adventure!
  • "Better Than Adventure" (BTA) is an expansion mod that aims to add new features to the vanilla experience. Adding controller support, steel (which is better than diamond), arrow quivers and more! It also adds great features like green and pink wood types that help with building pretty houses. It comes with a guidebook (R to open it by default) that gives crafting hints, but I found it somewhat useless and would suggest using a mod like too many items to find recipes instead.
  • Mango Pack
  • Mango pack is a huge modpack, with a lot of fun features. It ships with too many items (the recipe finder mod) by default and features new crafting stations, portal guns and a lot more. It has cheats and lots more fun stuff. It's not been updated for over 2 years and lacks cohesion but is fun to play around with. It also has tmi set to give you items by default, so for a non-cheating playthrough you should hit the cog settings in the menu and change it to recipe mode.
